Hi Friends!
Welcome to CASE-ing Tuesday! Even though this post is going up on Wednesday. Ugh! Sometimes I just have a hard time getting it all together. But, I'm so excited to share this with you!
I have been a member of CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group for quite a while and have enjoyed seeing all the wonderful cards everyone posted. CASE stands for Copy And Selectively Edit or Copy And Share Everything. Just in case you were wondering. :) This is the first time I have joined in on the fun. YES!!
So...every Tuesday there is a sample card that goes up on the group page from the Stampin' Up! catalog and a sketch with measurements. To play along all you have to do is make the card like it is shown or put your own creative twist to it. Then you can post a pic of your card on the group too! What a great way to find inspiration and have fun creating.
Here's the sample we are CASE-ing this week:
I changed up the measurements a wee bit on my card to accommodate for the size of my focal image.
Here are my measurements:
Card Base - Crumb Cake - 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
1st Layer - Crumb Cake - 3-3/4" x 5"
2nd Layer - Soft Suede - 2-1/2" x 3-1/2"
Focal Image Layer - Very Vanilla - 2" x 3-5/8"
I pulled out my Stamparatus - WOOHOO!! - I love that tool!! I used it to stamp the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink down the side of the first layer. I attached that layer to the Card Base.
Then I ran the Soft Suede second layer through the Corrugated Embossing Folder and adhered with glue, which works best for this piece, to the front of the first layer.
I stamped my Focal Image on the Very Vanilla piece using Memento ink. I colored the image using various Stampin' Blends. I will have the ones I used listed in the supplies below. I also used the pretty cool Stampin' Chalk Marker for the cotton balls. And...I flicked around the edges with Crumb Cake ink using Stamping Sponges to give it that distressed look. Every country card should have that look, I think.
Using adhesive I took a piece of the Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon and attached it to the back of the Focal Image. Then I popped it up with the most awesome Stampin' Dimensionals!!!
There you go! That's all there is to it. Pretty easy wouldn't you say?
Now it's your turn to give it a go. Create your take on today's sample and share it with us over at the FACEBOOK GROUP. You can do it just like the sample, or change it up anyway you like. Have fun and create! I can't wait to see your cards!!
Thanks bunches for joining me down on the farm. Hope to see you again soon. Happy Stamping!
